PostAuto Graubünden, the regional public bus service, has a progressive mind set when it comes to mountain biking. After upgrading each of their vehicles with bike hooks many years ago and having a bunch of larger trailers available on demand for groups, a new type of mountain bike trailer needed to be developed: the bike porter.
The bike porter can load bikes of any size on three different platforms. Most important, it‘s within traffic regulations, it‘s not harming any of the bikes, it‘s fast, and easily handled by all users.
Current numbers have proven that additional capacity is needed. PostAuto Graubünden transported 26‘000 bikes during the summer of 2014, 88% of which were mountain bikes.
Today, people still ask us one question: „What do you do exactly?“. „We develop mountain biking destinations.“ is our answer, but many cannot imagine what that might involve. That's why we decided to launch this blog series called WORK, in which we'll give you some insights from our work and the results that have emerged from it.
