WORK 10 - A SWISS STANDARD FOR BIKE HOTELS

By: Darco Cazin September 13, 2016

Back in the day (I think it was the old millenium) our company didn‘t start with developing mountain bike destinations but with offering guided biking tours for my mom‘s hotel. It quickly evolved into a booked out bike hotel and a unique hub for mountain bike riders from all over the world.

When we started working in Livigno in 2003, we had already developed offers together with visionary hotel owner Fabio Giacomelli. But we soon realized that we needed more hotels to become bike hotels if we
wanted to get mountain biking to fl
y for the whole destination. After having visited around 40 hotels we were finally able to announce the first bike hotel cooperation of the destination - with 10 member hotels.

WORK 09 - A NEW GENERATION OF GUIDES

By: Darco Cazin August 20, 2016

Since then, many courses have taken place and many guides have reached the highest possible diploma. Some guides from the first entry course even went on to become experts and instructors for the national programme.

WORK 07 - THE BIKE TRAILER OF THE FUTURE

By: Darco Cazin July 09, 2016

PostAuto Graubünden, the regional public bus service, has a progressive mind set when it comes to mountain biking. After upgrading each of their vehicles with bike hooks many years ago and having a bunch of larger trailers available on demand for groups, a new type of mountain bike trailer needed to be developed: the bike porter.

WORK 06 - EDUCATION FOR A NEW TRAIL CREW IN DAVOS

By: Darco Cazin June 18, 2016

The trail crew in Davos remained undiscovered by the outside mountain biking world. However, their impressive work is the foundation of the success of Davos as a mountain biking destination. Prior to this, Allegra supported the municipality of Davos to get funding to employ five full-time people to focus on adapting the massive hiking trail network for the needs of mountain bikers
