A few years ago, the national Swiss Cycling Guide education was not well established amongst practicing guides. That changed, when Claude took over the education and Allegra (as an activity within the develop- ment project graubündenBIKE) recruited more than 30 candidates for the first entry course in Graubünden. Since then, many courses have taken place and many guides have reached the highest possible diploma. Some guides from the first entry course even went on to become experts and instructors for the national programme.
Currently, many new guides from all across Switzerland are being recruited and educated to offer mountain bike riders a carefree experience on the trails. They represent the core of the local mountain biking scene and are a crucial link between what happens on the trails and what happens in the offices of policy makers and product developers.
Allegra is still part of the Swiss education. Claude currently works on unifying the systems from different European countries and is about to introduce guiding education in new countries
Today, people still ask us one question: „What do you do exactly?“. „We develop mountain biking destinations.“ is our answer, but many cannot imagine what that might involve. That's why we decided to launch this blog series called WORK, in which we'll give you some insights from our work and the results that have emerged from it.
